Preparation

The clocks go back tonight. The darkness is settling down around us and Samhain is almost here.

Today we made our preparations. In the morning, while the girls napped, I baked a brack. Not a traditional Barmbrack, but a Tea-Brack. It is moist and delicious and the girls love it, which is always a bonus!

After dinner, Devo carved a pumpkin. A local black cat showed up, just as he began. Perfect timing!

The girls were a little nervous at first, but when we turned the lights back on they got a little braver. Sábha called it a monster. All monsters, to her knowledge, are friendly so it wasn't long before this "monster" was one of the family.

 Later, I made some treat bags to hand out the big night.

We are ready.
